Move from Sigma

Rebuild a Sigma workbook in Querio using its data models, generated SQL, metrics and controls as the starting point.

unshackle's exporter for this tool has early support. Review the migration report before relying on its output.

1. Prepare access

Install unshackle and run the commands below from your analytics Git repository.

• SIGMA_API_URL, SIGMA_CLIENT_ID and SIGMA_CLIENT_SECRET from Administration > Developer access.
• Use REST API client credentials whose owner can access the selected workbook and models.
• Use the API host shown for your Sigma cloud and region. CSV, Excel and PDF downloads contain results, not workbook definitions; unshackle does not support importing them as Sigma definitions.

2. Export one report

unshackle check sigma --prompt
unshackle inventory sigma
unshackle migrate sigma --only WORKBOOK_ID
unshackle todo

Replace WORKBOOK_ID with the selected item's ID from inventory. The credential prompt saves values to a local, git-ignored .env; keep those values out of agent prompts.

Read migration/report.md for missing dependencies, extraction errors and unfinished translations before continuing.

3. Review what needs adapting

• Control values can be baked into exported SQL. Replace them with named parameters and explicit defaults.
• Review Lookup, Rollup, window functions and date/text expressions in the warehouse's dialect.
• Unions and complex charts can need rebuilding. Check row- and column-level access, including rules that were not exported.

Download an element's results as CSV or compare its saved generated SQL. Pin dates and control values, and check both detail and rolled-up totals.

4. Rebuild and check it in Querio

Open the repository in Claude Code, Codex or your preferred coding agent. Give it this brief:
