Find and organize saved work

Find an Explore or board, then use names, statuses, tags, and cell bookmarks so your team can return to it.

Find an Explore or board

Choose a list in the sidebar:

ListWhat it shows
ExploresSaved work without cells placed in a board layout.
BoardsSaved work with cells placed in a board layout.

A board presents selected cells from an Explore's notebook. It is not a separate copy. If an Explore has since gained a board layout, look in Boards. To arrange cells for presentation, see Build a board.

If Jump back in appears on New Explore, you can return to recent work there. A saved browser URL also takes you directly to an item you can access.

Search and filter

Enter part of a title in Search conversations... or Search boards.... Search also matches the creator's name or email address. It does not search cell code, results, or conversation text.

If a teammate's work is missing from Explores, check Created by. When you have created Explores, this filter can start set to you. Clear it to include other creators. Boards does not use that default.

FilterUse it to find
Created byWork from a particular teammate.
StatusWork with one workspace status.
TagWork with any of the selected tags.
DatasourceIn Explores, work using any of the selected datasources.
SourceWork started in Explore, Slack, Automation, or another listed source.
BookmarkedWork containing at least one bookmarked cell.
PublicWork with an active public link. This filter does not publish anything.

Some filters sit under More or Filters. Remove filters to broaden the list, clear search text separately, and check later pages of results. The Datasource control also appears in Boards, but its selection is not applied to that list; do not use it to determine a board's sources.

Open the right work

Compare the row's Name, Created by, Status, Tags, and Updated information, then open it. Check the notebook and results before using the analysis. Updated tells you when the saved record changed, not when its data was last queried. If the answer needs to be current, check its execution and inputs.

Name and label work for the team

Open the Explore in Edit when you need to change its saved details:

  1. Click the title, enter a name someone would recognize, such as September revenue review, and press Enter.
  2. Select Add status or the current status badge, then choose one existing workspace status. Use Clear status to remove it.
  3. Select Add tag, search if needed, and check the existing tags that apply. You can choose several. Close the menu to save; Tags updated confirms the change.

Statuses and tags help the team group and find work. A status such as Trusted or Reviewed reflects your team's process; setting it does not verify the answer or run a query. In either history list, select a row's status or tag to filter for similar work.

Add tag selects labels that already exist. Someone with settings permission can create a workspace label under Settings > Statuses and tags using New tag or New status.

Bookmark a useful cell

In the editor's Notebook, hover over a cell and select Bookmark cell. Select Remove bookmark to undo it. The Bookmarked history filter finds an Explore or board if any of its cells are bookmarked; its row also shows a bookmark indicator.

Bookmarks are saved with the work and are shared metadata, not a personal collection. They point teammates to a useful cell without creating a copy or changing access.

If work is missing or a change does not stick

ProblemWhat to check
No matching rowsCheck both Explores and Boards. Clear Created by and other filters, clear search separately, and check pagination. If it is still missing, check workspace access.
You cannot open an itemCheck your signed-in account and ask the owner to share it. A list entry or URL does not grant access.
You cannot change a name or tagOpen Edit and check your update permission. Status and bookmark actions have separate permission checks.
A tag change is missingClose the Add tag menu, wait for Tags updated, and check for an error. Then reopen the saved work to see what persisted.
A bookmark seems to change after retryingBookmark is a toggle. Check the cell's current state before repeating an action whose response you did not see.

Opening saved work does not grant datasource access. Running its queries requires datasource permission and exactly one authorized credential. If the content opens but the result is unexpected, check the answer before relying on it.

For an independent copy, use Duplicate. Explores explains what it copies and how sharing is set. To branch from selected live board results, see Explore from a board.
