Move from Redash

Export your Redash work with unshackle, then use a coding agent and Querio CLI to rebuild and check it in Querio.

Bring Redash SQL, parameters and dashboard charts into Querio while keeping the original queries available for comparison.

Already exported? Go straight to Move exported work to Querio.

1. Prepare access

Install unshackle and run the commands below from your analytics Git repository.

  • REDASH_URL and a user API key in REDASH_API_KEY, found under Edit Profile > API Key.
  • Use a user key, not a per-query result key. Admin access is needed for complete groups, sharing and usage; other users see only their permitted data sources.
  • This source uses the API. unshackle does not support a Redash file import.

2. Export one report

unshackle check redash --prompt
unshackle inventory redash
unshackle migrate redash --only dashboard:DASHBOARD_ID
unshackle todo

Replace DASHBOARD_ID with the selected item's ID from inventory. The credential prompt saves values to a local, git-ignored .env; keep those values out of agent prompts.

Read migration/report.md for missing dependencies, extraction errors and unfinished translations before continuing.

3. Review what needs adapting

  • Parameters used as column names, sort expressions or parts of strings need deliberate rewriting.
  • Bind multi-value parameters and choose explicit defaults for relative dates.
  • Query Results and other non-SQL sources need a replacement data path. Result-column filters and unsupported charts need adaptation.

Run the saved Redash query with the agreed parameter values and download its rows as CSV. Preserve SQL column aliases and include a parameterized case, not only the default view.

4. Rebuild and check it in Querio

Open the repository in Claude Code, Codex or your preferred coding agent. Give it this brief:

Read https://docs.querio.ai/llms/guides/move-bi-workflow/already-unshackled.md.
Use this repository's Redash export to rebuild REPORT_NAME in Querio.
Pay attention to Redash parameter substitution, multi-value inputs,
result-column filters and Query Results dependencies.
Ask me for the target workspace, datasource and a trusted source result.

Replace REPORT_NAME with the report you chose. Follow Move exported work to Querio for CLI authentication, the full agent task, verification and sharing. Check the rebuilt Querio output against your source result before using it as a replacement.

For export settings and the full list of translation gaps, see unshackle's Redash guide.
