Move from Omni

Move Omni model definitions and a dashboard into Querio, reusing the business meaning already captured in views and topics.

unshackle's exporter for this tool has early support. Review the migration report before relying on its output.

1. Prepare access

Install unshackle and run the commands below from your analytics Git repository.

• OMNI_URL and an Organization API key in OMNI_API_KEY, created under Admin > API keys.
• Dashboard export requires an organization key. A personal token only sees its owner's documents.
• OMNI_MODEL_ID can select one model. Branch and workbook models are skipped by default; explicitly select the relevant model or promote its definitions in Omni first.

2. Export one report

unshackle check omni --prompt
unshackle inventory omni
unshackle migrate omni --only DOCUMENT_ID
unshackle todo

Replace DOCUMENT_ID with the selected item's ID from inventory. The credential prompt saves values to a local, git-ignored .env; keep those values out of agent prompts.

Read migration/report.md for missing dependencies, extraction errors and unfinished translations before continuing.

Using exported files instead

Import a model folder from Omni Git sync, or an equivalent YAML folder containing model.yaml:

unshackle init
unshackle import omni path/to/model-folder
unshackle build omni
unshackle todo

Model YAML does not include dashboards or workbooks, so this route does not generate their notebooks. You can still bring the exported model definitions into Querio context, then rebuild a report from its source specification.

3. Review what needs adapting

• Excel-style table calculations need SQL equivalents. SQL-defined views may need dbt models or warehouse views.
• Review distinct-on measures, list aggregates, relative dates and custom visuals.
• Topic access filters and access-grant holders need mapping to your actual Querio access setup.

Download an Omni tile's result or use its source query under fixed dates and filters. Include table calculations and topic access filters relevant to the report.

4. Rebuild and check it in Querio

Open the repository in Claude Code, Codex or your preferred coding agent. Give it this brief:

Pay attention to Omni topics, table calculations, SQL-defined views
and any dashboard definitions missing from a model-only export.
